Hey everybody!

Now that the pandemonium that was 2020 is FINALLY over, we may not be completely out of the woods yet (but with vaccination beginning, I'd say we're well on the way at last ), but I'd say being able to make it through 2020 in and of itself deserves merit.

While last year's list of drawings I wanted to work on had a fair few that I wanted to work on but sadly didn't get around to finishing, I was able to get through quite a few of them, and when it came to series I wanted to watch, I also managed to get through quite a few of them as well. Seen as it worked last year, I think I'll stick with the To Do List as it helped quite a bit.

Hello everyone - it has been a long time since I have been on DeviantART and shared an update, but I hope that everyone has been doing well.

The last month has been a pretty busy and hectic one for me. With the job interview I had in the middle of February (I have been looking to change jobs recently and have been keeping an eye out for other jobs that appeal to me - Unfortunately I didn't get that job but their feedback was very good and they'll keep me on a list in case something cones up in the future. I shall also be keeping a lookout for anything else in case the recruitment agency I'm a member of gets back to me - I have been looking at other sites every now and again in case something new comes up. )

I have also been trying to build my work on my other social media sites (as well as not being as active on DeviantART as I used to be, I have been working on a fair few more NSFW art pieces that I wouldn't be able to upload on DA ) - but when it comes to the art pieces I have been working on I hope to share these on DA soon .

I have also been checking out some more pieces of media recently. Here's a bit of a rundown with what I've been doing recently -

- Watched Season 1 of Love, Death and Robots on Netflix - a really cool and entertaining anthology series with some great worldbuilding and beautiful animation styles (If I had to choose favourites, I'd choose Sonnie's Edge, Zima Blue, Suits, The Dump, Good Hunting and Fish Night)

- Bought and started playing Sam and Max Save the World Remastered and Mad Rat Dead on the Nintendo Switch Been wanting to play the next Sam and Max games for ages, and am excited to beat these in time for when the remastered version of Devil's Playhouse is released And Mad Rat Dead's rhythm based platforming and art style caught my attention

- Visited a wildlife park near me when I had a day off work yesterday and drove into the city near me for the first time

- Been buying some new board games for my friend groups I've been visiting

I hope that everyone has been doing well since the last time I was here. Life has become very busy lately and DeviantART isn't a website I use that much nowadays, but despite some hangups I have with the AI discourse and how many people have been jumping shop from DA recently (and I do find Furaffinity and Twitter easier to use and many of the friends I have been meeting in person this past year do use those websites so it is easier for me to keep in contact with them there), I don't want to abandon DA completely and will occasionally still update my art on here and give little rundowns on any big events.

Hello everybody - hope everyone is doing well today!

Yep, my 29th birthday is today - unfortunately, not many plans for today as it was a workday, but with me having got onto more social media since last year, I think I've received more birthday wishes than I have in any year before, which means a ton.

While the last year has been a massively busy year compared to any year for a long time - with commissions, going to many more places than I have before, and finally getting the confidence to seek out new friends and to try to branch out onto new social media accounts - I am feeling a lot more accomplished than I have ever felt before, and a huge part of that is due to all of you lovely people and the people I've met on my new social media accounts and those I've met in person. I still think that 2022 was the main year that my confidence and development took a HUGE step upwards, and I hope to maintain that in 2023.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well today!

Just a little bit of an update here for some things I've got planned for my art in February - my 29th birthday is on the 22nd February, and in commemoration of my birthday, I will be holding a sale throughout the whole of February, so watch this space!

In addition, Valentine's Day is coming up, so I will be making a new YCH template ready for then if anyone is interested. I shall be making a SFW and a NSFW one...

In terms of life updates, January has been a bit of a hard month for me so far - work has been getting me down and I've been suffering from a few depression episodes this month so far , but I have started trying to look for new jobs, and my friends and family have been helping me to overcome my anxiety and stress , and there are some more events in late January and February coming up that I'm looking forward to - including a video game event I started going to last year starting up again, Puss in Boots the Last Wish coming out in the UK on the 3rd February and the final season of Aggretsuko being released on the 16th February.

I'll also hopefully be working on some new characters and fanart too.

Hello everybody – I hope that everyone is doing well and your festive period is treating you and your loved ones well. :3

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me, checked out my art, helped me improve my style, and those whose art has inspired me and helped me through the hard times, and I also wanted to give a run down on what a year this has been for me personally. 😊

While I know that I’m not a very well known artist and I still have a long way to go when it comes to developing my own style and myself as a person, I can say that 2022 is the year where I finally began finding myself and had the confidence to begin making friends outside my online mutuals and my family members for the first time since secondary school ended TWELVE years ago…. I’m not joking, it took me that long to start wanting to talk to people again, but I think the constant lockdowns and some choice encounters/adverts that I came across did inspire me to go and see more people and see what was out there, which has led me to learn more about my hobbies and my likes. When it comes to my art and my range, I think spending time with other people and going to new places has inspired that as well. 😊

Art clubs, Dungeons and Dragons, board game clubs, archery, arcades, virtual reality bars, bowling, exhibits, conventions and gigs are all the things I’ve managed to check out this year, and I’d like to thank my friends and family that have all made this possible, as your kind words and support are part of what made it possible for me to start living properly. :3 It’s funny – I went about two years without booking into a hotel at all, and this year alone I’ve booked into three of them, and have another two lined up next year, which I have been able to finance and arrange myself. 😊

It may sound a little bit cheesy, but for the longest time it felt like I was simply sleepwalking through life without any real drive or goal to work towards, and this is the year where I think I finally starting having passion to live again for the longest time.

After secondary school, I had lost contact with my school friends, and my college and university did almost NOTHING to really help me socialise with others, and because of that it impacted my confidence in myself at my workplace until 2020, and it wasn’t until I began finding myself I realised that there was much more out there besides work. I had to discover it through my own power as the ‘support’ groups I had didn’t really help at all, and I couldn’t keep bombarding my parents or other family members with it, but I think that in turn reassured me that I CAN do this and I have some power to help myself. I had felt helpless and like barely anybody really knew or cared I existed for a long time, but I think I finally have some power of confidence and assertiveness to seek out new opportunities for myself rather than letting them fall by the wayside. 😊

I think the art group, retro video game events, board game club, attending my local Dungeons and Dragons group and the day at Confuzzled I went to this year were the main events that REALLY opened my eyes to what’s out there, as it’s where I met most of the new friends I’ve made this year and it’s where I REALLY began building up my confidence – the people I’ve met at these have pointed it out to me themselves, which has been a GIANT confidence boost for me. :3

I also think I’ve been paying more attention to things going on in the world and important matters over the last year too, which has led me to making changes in my life for the better – while I sometimes struggle to make time for the gym (at the start of the year I tried to make a New Year’s resolution to go the gym more, but due to other life responsibilities that hasn’t been possible and I’ve learned not to beat myself up when it isn’t possible and to just workout in other ways and only do it when I feel comfortable to 😊 ), I have started eating a vegan diet over the last few months, have been trying to make more effort to support artists that I like and have been making sure to keep an eye on important situations in life. While I think this has had the negative side effect that I have been feeling depressed a number of times this year (I think in part due to me not being used to processing negative occurrences in the world and feeling overwhelmed, coupled with the stress that my day job has been leaving me with this year ☹ ), because of me being more open and aware and not cutting myself off as much from the world as I did before 2021, I think it has had its benefits where I’m more knowledgeable. 😊 It’s also helped that I have more friends than I ever did before so I have more people that I can trust to confide in without bombarding the same people with my worries. 😊

When it comes to feeling overwhelmed, I’ve also learned to take it at my own pace when it comes to checking my messages, working on art, checking out other interests and even doing tasks at work. I have always felt pressured to think I need to constantly jump between everything and not having any time for myself. I have thought that to develop myself I need to constantly keep busy and I think it’s led to me feeling a lot of burnout whenever I end up pushing myself. Fortunately, I do think I’m starting to get the hang of taking it at my own pace. 😊

I may have been pushing my art on more social media platforms this year (I have FINALLY made myself a Twitter and Furaffinity after putting it off for ages – and it has opened up the possibilities of me being able to work on NSFW art – I do still have a Discord and while I don’t use it as much anymore, I am still using my DeviantART to share my art on), but I have been reminding myself it’s OK if I don’t check all of them 24/7 like I felt I had to before. And as a reminder, I do try to read all the comments I receive, but if it takes me some time to check my messages, I hope you understand. 😊

While I do still have a lot I need to work on, and I hope to work on these the next year, I am a little more hopeful that there’s more of a chance to achieve these objectives over the next year thanks to the positives of the last year.

I’m currently looking for a new job as over the last year I have been falling out of love with the job I’ve had for the past 6 years but nothing has really come up yet that’s suitable for me – my old job, while financially viable, has led me feeling a bit stranded, and it has sadly led me to fall out of love with chemistry as a whole as it hasn’t really gone anywhere for six years, but I have heard they’re trying to work on an employee training program next year so hopefully that will go somewhere, but I’ll still try to keep looking in case anything better comes up.

I’m also planning to make a Patreon next year to support other artists and be able to promote my art that way (and maybe have something a little special for those who support me 😊 ), practice drawing more NSFW art to build up my art style 😉, buy a new more powerful laptop/computer so that I can play some games that I can’t play on my old clunky laptop, go to more conventions (maybe a BrumFurs or two – hopefully this will also mean I can catch up with some of the lovely people I met this year again ), book more gigs (there’s two I’ve already got booked and am looking forward to ), and maybe look into getting a tattoo next year- I’ve been hoping to get one next year and I think I have an idea of what I would like to get. :D

I hope to be able to develop my art style and myself even more next year, and I still have a long way to go, but I think this year, with all of the chaos going on in the world and the number of times I’ve doubted myself, there have been more and more positives I’ve been noticing than ever before, and I would like to thank everybody for making that possible. Here’s hoping I get to continue this trend next year and possibly to be able to meet up with the people I’ve met in real life in person again – it’d be fantastic to catch up again! 😊
