Oh wow.... I think if I'm encountering episodes that I enjoy THIS much only THREE episodes in to Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, I'm in for a real treat. 
As well as the action, I loved how it can show how close a friendship between a dog and his owner can be actually pretty realistically..... Gin's Death Defying Friendship. 
I guess that tough training really paid off after all...

That sounds like my experience with Gurren Lagann, actually. While the first episode was only moderately good... The second episode was where I fell in love with the series... and by the end of the third episode, I was hooked.
