Looking to the Past

Once again, bad titling abilities, I know.

Also, the character named Kalliyan was the next one I said I would draw next - and here is the identity of Kalliyan............ a Goodra.   A Goodra who it turns out was the leader of the Curators of Virtue, and the mentors of Shelton the Lucario and Lave the Typhlosion. I feel that there are barely ANY female mentor characters in media, so I decided to make a female mentor character. And okay, you may figured out who Shelton and Lave were related to, seen as Kindle and Typhlosion are looking at this painting, but I'll reveal to you that Shelton is Tyson's grandfather, and Lave is Kindle's grandmother.

Okay, here's some more information on Shelton and Lave's relationship to Kindle and Tyson:

So, Lave seems to have been unfortunate with her husband Shelton passing away in combat (remember what I said in my A Villain's Idol picture about what happened?), but what about her first husband. Did he pass away too, or did something else that was unfortunate happen? Well, I'll reveal all soon.

But here's some info on the characters here in the painting. Clockwise from left to right, there is - Bruno the Riolu, Kalliyan the Goodra, Lave the Typhlosion, Wynona the Sligoo, Shelton the Lucario (and yes, Shelton is actually left handed, and he holds his sword in a similar style to Ventus from Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. )


Kalliyan, a direct descendent from the original Curators of Virtue, in the time of the First Buster Ghost Uprising (remember Mind Over Matter? ), Kalliyan is a strong and wise, yet rash mentor of Shelton and Lave. As well as becoming a high ranking member of the Steel Soldiers (another group I have mentioned in the past ), Kalliyan dedicated her early life to reinstating the Curators of Virtue, an order which had suffered from a lack of members for far too long. Lave the Typhlosion, a well known traveller and explorer, who came across the temple that Kalliyan had taken residence in, was taken in and set up residence. She fell in love with another student of Kalliyan's - a young and talented Lucario named Shelton. However, when Lave laid the egg of Bruno, Shelton's son, Shelton had heard word of the Buster Ghosts massing their forces, and refused to follow the Steel Soldiers tradition of leaving a freshly laid egg in the wilderness, and allowing the child to grow, fight and become a strong warrior on their own, an ancient custom of the Steel Soldiers ever since their founding. Kalliyan saw this as weak on Shelton's part, and she believed that he was letting his own concern for his family cloud his judgement and get in the way of his training.
Kalliyan's own daughter, Wynona, was born from Kalliyan's own experiences with a Charizard who left Kalliyan before Wynona's egg was even hatched.... This made Kalliyan bitter, and made her believe that there was no faith to be put in a family, and she believes that in the end, one must only look out for themselves. Her family history has been said to revolve around her ancestors feeling the exact same thing. Wynona was put through intense training in her youth, evolving from a Goomy to a Sligoo very shortly after being born. However, Kalliyan was treating her daughter as a soldier, not as a young child in need of fun and enjoyment. Luckily, Bruno, being given a happy raising by his father and mother Shelton and Lave, took to Wynona as a foster sister, allowing Wynona some of the joy that Kalliyan had denied her. However, Wynona still saw Kalliyan as a mother, and saw her way of treating her as a kind of 'hard love' and character building. But Wynona was far more cheery then her mother.
The day came when Shelton and Lave were given a test to determine who was worthy to become a Marshal of the Curators of Virtue, the same title the legendary Haxorus Archangel was given many eons before. The test was put together by a guest of Kalliyan's, a strong, yet mysterious Floatzel named Wellington, who had Shelton and Lave go up against some balls of mental energy. However, for some dark suspicious reason, the test went awry, and Shelton and Lave were in danger. Bruno dashed in to help his parents, and this is where Kalliyan began to believe that Shelton was letting his concern for his family get in the way of his own safety and cloud his judgement - Shelton protected his son from one ball of energy, but got hurt as a result. Lave tried to get to them, but was blocked off.... Nonetheless, the test came to an end... With LAVE being dubbed the new Marshal. After that test.... Wellington went missing.... Mysterious....

Many years passed, and after the Second Buster Ghost Uprising, it was revealed that Lave, Bruno and Wynona were survivors of the war between the Curators of Virtue and the Buster Ghosts... But Shelton and Kalliyan had lost their lives.... But the WAY that Kalliyan passed away remains a mystery. Some rumours suspect that Kalliyan grew resentful of Bruno, clouding her star pupil's judgement, and wanted to be rid of him, and Shelton intervened, slaying his teacher, but that is only a rumour. The truth is still a mystery....
However, what is NOT a mystery is what happened to Bruno. Bruno, and his mate Erebus the Zoroark, gave birth to Tyson. And Lave sadly left the temple, and she and her new husband Flint gave birth to Volc the Typhlosion, who's son in turn was Kindle the Typhlosion.

It is also known that Wynona is still living, and is said to now be a member of the Dewdrop Druids...

Oh, and Van Goff the Butterfree is BUGGIN'S FATHER - who was also a famous painter of the International B.U.G Council.



The next characters from the meme I'll draw will be Ernest and Bernard. Any guesses who they will be?
